Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, India’s teenage batting sensation, recently attended the Wimbledon 2026 men’s singles final at the iconic All England Club in London. He was present to witness the match between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev, where Sinner secured his second Wimbledon title with a victory of 6-7 (7), 7-6 (2), 6-3, 6-4.

The 15-year-old cricketer, who recently made his India debut, attended the final alongside fellow India opener Abhishek Sharma. Also present at Centre Court were former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and Sanju Samson, adding to the strong Indian cricket presence at the event.

Wimbledon Experience and Outfit Details

Sooryavanshi, dressed in a formal black blazer, white shirt, striped tie, and tinted sunglasses, garnered attention for his stylish appearance. He revealed that his outfit for the occasion was arranged at the last minute, with significant help from Abhishek Sharma.

He humorously stated, “I didn’t plan anything; whatever I could find in the last minute, I asked Abhishek and he got it arranged for me, and I just wore it.” This light-hearted comment highlighted the camaraderie between the two cricketers.

Attending Wimbledon live for the first time was a memorable experience for the young cricketer. He expressed his excitement about observing how players approach a major final, stating, “It’s my first experience watching live, and it’s been good to see how the players approach a final.”

Tennis Inspirations and Predictions

Sooryavanshi shared that he has been following tennis for several years, having grown up watching legends such as Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. He mentioned his continued admiration for Djokovic, stating, “Even now, I like Djokovic a lot.”

Among the current generation of tennis players, Sooryavanshi expressed his liking for Carlos Alcaraz, though Alcaraz was not playing in this year’s tournament. He also backed Jannik Sinner to win the Wimbledon trophy, impressed by Sinner’s dominance throughout the tournament. “As I followed the tournament, I was impressed by how Jannik Sinner dominated. So hopefully he will go on to win the final today,” he had predicted.

When asked about his ideal doubles partner in tennis, Sooryavanshi chose Abhishek Sharma, citing their established partnership in cricket. “I will go with Abhishek bhaiya. He is my opening partner in international cricket. I really enjoy batting with him a lot, so I will choose him as my doubles tennis partner as well,” he explained.

Indian Cricket’s Presence and Sooryavanshi’s Debut

Sooryavanshi’s attendance at Wimbledon continued a notable trend of Indian cricketers gracing the tournament. Earlier in the week, batting great Sachin Tendulkar and India’s ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill had also attended the men’s singles semi-finals from the Royal Box. Tendulkar is known to be a regular visitor to Wimbledon, while it was Gill’s first experience.

The presence of these cricketers, including Sooryavanshi, Yuvraj Singh, Abhishek Sharma, and Sanju Samson, highlighted the sport’s appeal across different generations of Indian cricket. Their appearance at Wimbledon followed India’s recently concluded T20I series against England.

Sooryavanshi was already in the United Kingdom, having made his senior India debut in that T20I series. At 15 years and 99 days, he became India’s youngest international debutant, surpassing a long-standing record. India, however, lost the five-match T20I series against England with a score of 0-4.
